Duration: Permanent, part-time between 38.10% and 61.90%

Salary: Full-time equivalent salary up to £39,695 per annum

The College is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and hardworking Teacher of Engineering to teach the design elements of the Level 3 AQA Engineering course. The successful applicant will also be required to teach Product Design.
 
Students cover topics such as:
1. The scientific principles used by engineers to identify the most suitable materials in a given engineering context.
2. Mechanical engineering systems and components.
3. The process of engineering design.
4. The relevance and role that manufacturing processes and systems have in the production of multiple components.
 
Students are involved in a mix of computer-based design work, practical engineering and theory.
 
They learn how to create mechanical systems such as robot arms using Lego mindstorms and carry out 2D and 3D Computer Aided Design. Students also engage in a team based activity to manufacture products such as small wind turbines.
 
Our students have an excellent record of progression onto Further and Higher Education Courses.

The post is permanent, part-time between 38.10% and 61.90% of full-time and the full-time equivalent salary is up to £39,695 per annum, which includes the Reigate College Allowance and the Professional Standards Payment (where applicable). The post would be equally suitable for an experienced or newly qualified teacher.
