Salary: whilst training: from £14,394 - £18,181 per annum

Would you like to train as a teacher in the post-compulsory sector whilst being paid to do so?
The College has substantial, successful experience of training teachers and provides a Grade 1 Teacher Training Programme awarded by Canterbury Christ Church University.
The successful applicant will be given a fixed-term contract over the training period and will divide their time between teaching and learning support duties. The College has a well-developed mentoring system and comprehensive professional development opportunities, through which the trainees will be fully supported towards a PGCE Post Compulsory Education qualification. The successful candidate will study at Reigate College. You must have a relevant degree and must not already have a teaching qualification. You must also demonstrate a commitment to a career in teaching and preferably have experience of working with young adults. The PGCE course fees will be paid by Reigate College.
As a trainee, your typical week will comprise teaching usually between 1 to 17 periods per week, with preparation and marking time. The remainder of your time will be spent as a Learning Facilitator, either supporting in class or working with individual students. You will be required to attend a training course on one evening per week throughout each year at Reigate College. You will also be expected to attend various evenings throughout the year such as Open Evenings and Parental Consultations.
This post is a fixed term, full-time appointment and is effective from 1st September 2018, through to 3rd July 2020. It is important to note that the College is unable to guarantee you any employment once your training is complete. Trainees are paid from £14,394 to £18,181 per annum, depending on the balance of duties between teaching and learning support.
