Reigate College’s Art & Design Department showcased a range of around 40 fine artists’ work during this year’s Surrey Artists’ Open Studios (SAOS). This was the first time the College took part in SAOS and it proved to be an exciting way for students to share their exceptional talent with the wider community.
Prints of the work exhibited, will continue to be available for sale via the College’s SU Shop https://su-shop.reigate.ac.uk/saos2024/ however, please note that the gallery shop is now closed until September. The College’s SAOS exhibition included work by around 40 artists – who were all 2023 leavers. Exam boards prohibit us from publicly exhibiting the work of current students’ work – that has still to be marked. ‘Zines’ (miniature portfolios on a creatively folded, double-sided piece of paper), were however, available to show off some of the work of this year’s Upper Sixth (2024 leavers).

Exhibition dates were: Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 June 2024, 2-5pm

Parking and access: Please park in one of the nearby public car-parks. There is unfortunately no parking at the Community Centre other than for Blue Badge holders. Please email CollegeEvents@reigate.ac.uk if you require special access arrangements.
Chantelle Shekyls, Head of Art & Design at Reigate College (and a gifted lino print-maker herself) ran two Lino Print Workshops – aimed at beginners or those who’ve done a limited amount of lino printing before.
This was a fantastic opportunity to get to grips with this rewarding print form, that with a small number of materials, will be easy to continue with at home. The aim was to produce 6 hand-printed gift cards in the 90 minute session, using either participants’ own designs or one from the selection of templates provided.
